This tea is enjoyable, with a refreshing tangy character layered over exotic (think mahagony/teak) woody base notes. It has low bitterness and a pleasant cooling effect on the tongue, with a resinous quality and good juiciness. The overall sensation is clean and feels comforting in the body.
It also seems to be in an in-between stage—the very youthful notes have faded, and the deeper aged characteristics haven’t fully developed yet, leaving a zesty woody complexity. There’s still a good presence of high notes and it comes out nice in clear porcelain or even a glass pot.
