This has that distinctive flowery Wangong character with a pronounced sweetness and a pleasant depth. It starts off a little watery, but what makes it stand out is the malty backbone—layered with a subtle nutty, mushroomy undercurrent that adds weight to the bright, floral top notes. There’s a touch of green herbal complexity in the background, and while the texture feels soft and even a bit thin, it’s very pleasant overall. The qi rises slowly and gently. I really enjoy the taste of this clean, slightly aged Wangong— nice juicy and thickness, and gentle depth. Though after a few steeps it reverts back to the less perfumed basenotes - more herbal, mineral, watery character remains. Also: nicely stored.

It does shine in the Hongni Pot.
I thought the Zini would help to make the mouthfeel a bit thicker, but turned out the Hongi does that better by retaining more of the higher notes. Leaving a juicy mouthfeel.
